Your program:
Day 1: Airport , Dana
Meets
and assist by our representative, visa formalities. Our drive takes us south
through a diverse desert landscape to the small village of Dana. The village
is also within a relatively new 320km square nature reserve of the same
name. The landscape within the park is very diverse, encompassing plateau,
mountain, valley and desert environments. We check in at luxury small hotel
in Dana Village, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Dana , Wadi Dana , Feynan
After an early breakfast and detailed trip
briefing we leave for the start of our trek. Our trek starts from the
village, where we begin our descent along a twisting track to the desert
floor (approx 250m above sea level). We pass through different eco-systems
with varying flora and fauna, eventually reaching our campsite on the desert
floor next to the ruins of Feinan. These are the remains of the ancient
Byzantine church dating back to 4000BC. Night camping. (13km, 7/8hrs
trekking).
Day
3: Feynan , Copper mines , Dhra’a Mkhereigeh
We wake early and after a good breakfast
load up the equipment and set off on our day's trek. Our route today takes
us across hamada, stony desert, with beautiful jagged mountains
rising up to 1400m to our east. To the west and northwest open desert
descends towards the Dead Sea 400m below sea level. The morning's route
takes us around several small hills before we head out across open desert,
we will arrival to colored soft sand in Dhra’a Mkhereigeh, and our Bedouin
tent will be prepared for our overnight. (18 Km, 8/9hrs trekking).
Day 4: Wadi Arabah , Namala , Petra
After breakfast, we have two hours free time
wondering around at amazing soft sand hills, and ride our Jeep Safari drive
up to Ras Namala (998 m above sea level), lunch at wonderful view of
landscape, evening drive to Wadi Mousa, check in at hotel, free evening,
dinner and overnight. (3hrs walking, 2hrs driving).
Day 5: Petra , Wadi Rum
Today is what we have all been waiting for:
the trek into Petra. The huge tombs and buildings of Petra, carved out of
the rock itself, are testament to the one-time wealth of the ancient capital
of the Nabataeans. The trek takes us initially to the Monastery, which is an
impressive carved building standing 43 meters high and 50 meters wide. From
there we continue on our guided trek to the centre of Petra, before heading
around Jebel al-Khubtha and the amazing red-striped sandstone rocks to Wadi
Mataha. We then walk through the As-Siq to see the Treasury, the most famous
and impressive sight at Petra. A further half-hour trek back through the Siq
takes us to our waiting transport which we then take to Wadi Rum, check in
at our Bedouin campsite, all equipment available, dinner and overnight (7
hrs walking, 2hrs driving).
Day 6: Seven Pillars of Wisdom , Lawrence Spring
Breakfast and 4W Drive will take us past the
Seven Pillars of Wisdom, of T. E. Lawrence fame, to Wadi Rum. Known to the
Arabs as The Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum’s combination of immensity,
richness of color, and awesome shapes creates an atmosphere that is other
worldly. After exploring the valley, the largest and grandest of a network
of valleys used by trading caravans to the Arabian Peninsula, hiking in moon
valley, till we reach Lawrence spring, and stay the night at Bedouin tent
(11 Km, 5/6hrs walking).
Day 7: Khaza’ali , Umm Fruth
Early breakfast, and we start walking on
soft sand dunes, to the famous canyon in Wadi Rum Al-Khaza’ali canyon 165 m
narrow canyon, has Thamudic wells, and we continue our round in Wadi Rum,
from back side of Umm Sabata to Umm Fruth, the largest rock bridge in Wadi
Rum, there our campfire will be prepared, dinner and overnight (20 Km, 9/10
hrs walking).
Day 8: Umm Fruth , Al-Khuttar
Early breakfast, start walking in different
desert, white sand to Bgairah, then on dark red sand to the best mountain
view of Wadi Rum, Al-Khuttar mountain, where a spring underground in small
cave, which is always hot, and very wet cave, we will have our lunch, cross
to Umm Sabata, stay the night at Bedouin tent (10 Km, 5/6 hrs walking).
Day 9: Al-Khuttar , Amman
After
breakfast you will have couple hours wondering in beautiful desert, and ride
our 4WD, back to visitor centre, where our bus will be waiting us, drive via
desert high way to Amman, enjoy the night highlights of Amman, dinner and at
the hotel and overnight. (4hrs driving).
Day 10: Amman , City tour , Airport
Depend of your flight schedule, drive for
shopping in biggest market and old souqs of Amman, visit the Roman theatre
and the citadel, drive back to the airport, and assist with your departure.
